Senior Software Engineer - API Platform & Client Tooling

Job Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer on the API Platform & Client Tooling team at CoreWeave, you will design and build the code-generation pipeline that turns a single proto contract into Go SDKs, CWIC commands, and Terraform resources.

Responsibilities

• Own components of the API services framework and its generated artifacts, including proto-driven code generation that emits Go SDKs, CWIC commands, and Terraform resources from a single source of truth.
• Design and ship proto and API contracts, applying schema evolution and backwards-compatibility discipline, and help author and enforce CoreWeave API Standards in CI.
• Champion developer experience across the CLI, SDKs, and Terraform provider, focusing on ergonomics, release cadence, and quality bars.
• Work across authentication and identity, understanding how auth contracts flow from proto into generated clients.
• Act consultatively to help other teams design and ship good APIs and services.
• Drive team-level technical initiatives to completion and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Production experience writing Go.
• Experience designing and evolving APIs, including versioning, backwards compatibility, and deprecation.
• Experience building or maintaining client tooling, such as SDKs, CLIs, or infrastructure providers.
• A track record of owning a project or initiative end to end and operating independently.
• Clear communication about technical contributions and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with code generation, such as codegen pipelines, templating, AST manipulation, or compiler/plugin work.
• Experience with gRPC and protocol buffers, or another strongly-typed API/IDL toolchain.
• Familiarity with the Buf toolchain, ConnectRPC, the Terraform Plugin Framework, or Cobra.
