Description

We're seeking a Youth Staff (Japanese Speaking) to join our team at Princess Cruises. As a Youth Staff, you will be responsible for implementing and supervising programs and activities for children and teens on board our ships. You will consistently deliver a welcoming and entertaining youth experience for our guests, owning your experience area and supporting the development, implementation, and execution of initiatives. You will also provide excellent service by demonstrating enthusiasm and genuine interest while working with both parents and children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and supervise programs and activities for children and teens in accordance with all safety requirements and Company guidelines.
  • Consistently deliver a welcoming and entertaining youth experience for our guests in accordance to brand standards.
  • Own your experience area and support the development, implementation, and execution of initiatives; follow the Youth Program activity schedule as created by the Youth Activities Manager.
  • Provide excellent service by demonstrating enthusiasm and genuine interest while working with both parents and children.
  • Help the Youth Activities Manager plan and prepare activity schedules for all age groups per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment, and communicate procurement needs to Youth Activities Manager.
  • Assist with prompt and accurate Youth Program documentation and administration, including registration cards, sign-in sheets and forms, guest in Focus files, and incident reports.
  • Consistently exceed the Entertainment Youth and Family Experience defined targets by driving a personalized guest and teammate centric and experience culture.
  • Participate productively in Youth Staff meetings, orientations for new staff, and training and development programs as directed by the Youth Activities Manager.

Requirements:

  • Formal education or credential in education or related field is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of previous work experience in a youth-related field is required; this may include learning, recreation, teaching, or similar.
  • Fluent English language skills, both spoken and written.
  • Fluent Japanese language skills, both spoken and written.
  • Understanding of the foundation of guest service; ability and willingness to deliver outstanding service to our guests.
  • Motivation to excel in all aspects of job duties and responsibilities.
  • Personable communicator with outstanding social skills and a warm, friendly, and caring personality.
  • Ability to continuously surprise and delight guests throughout their cruise experience.
  • Commitment to establish and maintain courteous and professional working relationships in a diverse cultural environment.
  • Medical First Aid / BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required.
