Description
As a Tool & Die Maker Apprentice, you will undergo a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to create, repair, and maintain precision tools, dies, and molds used in the manufacturing industry.
You will work under the guidance of experienced Tool & Die Makers, learning to perform a variety of tasks that support the production of parts and components for machinery, automotive, and other industries.
Key responsibilities include attaining certification as a Tool and Die Maker, assisting in design, construction, and maintenance of tools, dies, jigs and fixtures, suggesting product improvements, and identifying potential build issues.
You will also operate and learn to use various machines, such as lathes, mills, and grinders, to fabricate and modify parts to exact specifications, learn to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints, and assist in assembling, testing, and installing tools, dies, and related equipment for production processes.
Additionally, you will participate in inspecting finished products and tooling to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with safety regulations, ensure that customer requirements are understood and met, and maintain accurate timesheets and ensure they are completed on time.
The role involves handling heavy materials and operating precision machinery, and an eagerness to learn on the job is essential.
