Telephone Nurse Triage - Atrium Health Wake Neurosurgery On-Site FT

We are seeking a full-time Telephone Nurse Triage to join our team at Atrium Health Wake Neurosurgery in Greensboro, NC. The successful candidate will provide patient-centered care, acting as a partner and adviser to patients and families, helping them manage their healthcare needs.

The role involves:

• Providing patient/family centered care, respecting culture and values, individual needs, health goals, and treatment preferences
• Applying critical reasoning and clinical judgment to expedite appropriate care and treatment
• Ensuring proper scheduling and follow-up on test results for providers
• Using active listening skills, approved protocols, and evidence-based practice to explain test results and medications to patients
• Participating in own professional development, maintaining required competencies, and seeking assistance or educational offerings
• Focusing on patient safety and quality of nursing care, applying nursing interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes
• Maintaining knowledge of care teams for coordination of patient care, self-management, population management, and communication skills
• Adapting personal communication style to meet patient needs in diverse backgrounds
• Demonstrating exceptional assessment, critical thinking, and customer service skills

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with two years of acute care experience
• Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of North Carolina
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) may be required within one year
