The Engineering Intern will be asked to perform a variety of entry-level technical duties as needed to assist in the preparation, review, and maintenance of engineering/quality documents, and create ad-hoc reports. The candidate will utilize their field of study (chemical, industrial, electrical, mechanical, civil) degree paths to bring critical-thinking skills into the role and to gain hands-on experience in the assigned internship.
Responsibilities:
- Optimization of the current processes assigned by the Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or Plant Engineer.
- Work on enhancing operational equipment efficiency (OEE).
- Create or modify standard operating procedures (SOP's).
- Perform line and process audits utilizing the plants Quality Management System (QMS).
- Assist in writing authorization for expenditures (AFE's).
- Engage in time motion studies.
- Participate in various assigned facility meetings, teams, and initiatives that support the operations and quality systems.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; applicant must be a student attending classes at a university/college.
- Must have strong attention to detail and excellent math skills.
- Must be able to multi-task and willing to work in a very fast-paced environment.
- Excellent computer skills. Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
- Lean Tools.
- Ability to compile and record data accurately.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills (Phone, IM, Email, in person).
- Organization skills.
- Proactively identifies improvements to processes, systems, and documentation.
