Description
NVIDIA is seeking an experienced ATE and SLT Hardware Engineer to join their team in Santa Clara, CA. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of hardware for IC package testing during final test and system level test.
Job Summary: As an ATE/SLT hardware engineer, you will take an active role in hardware development for both product launch and High Volume Manufacturing (HVM). You will review and approve the design of test sockets, thermal plungers, and other accessories related to ATE/SLT IC testing. You will also provide ATE and SLT test fixture/HW solutions from design to verification and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve the design of test socket, thermal plunger, and other accessories related to ATE/SLT IC testing for product bring-up and production.
- Provide ATE and SLT test fixture/HW solutions from design, manufacturing order, schedule monitoring, verification, and improvement.
- Drive ATE and SLT socket/thermal technology, solutions, and qualifications.
- Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) and analyze engineering data to make decisions and recommendations for improvement.
- Provide multi-functional support and drive projects with internal and external collaborators.
- Apply strong hardware troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Debug ATE/SLT hardware setup such as socket, thermal plunger, PCB, chiller, and handler.
- Provide on-duty lab support, including weekend support if necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME).
- 5+ years of IC testing engineering and ATE/SLT hardware engineering experience.
- Experience with test sockets and thermal plungers is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with test socket and/or thermal plunger mechanics and PCB footprints.
- Experience with socket signal integrity is a strong plus.
- Ability to understand mechanical drawings and possess mechanical and electrical circuit knowledge.
- Knowledge of IC testing, ATE/SLT interface hardware, maintenance, fixing, and repairs.
- Experience with ATE tester is a plus.
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to provide solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Willingness to conduct hands-on work such as socket pin repair and electric wire and component replacement.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds and knowledge of prevention and control of electrostatic discharge (ESD).
