NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Customer Safety Engineer - Automotive to work on autonomous vehicle technology, ensuring its safety at scale. The successful candidate will collaborate with innovative engineers and technologists to integrate safety measures into NVIDIA's latest DRIVE products.

Job Summary: As a Senior Customer Safety Engineer - Automotive, you will represent NVIDIA's functional safety strategy and architectures to customers. You will work closely with customers to understand their functional safety requirements and system architectures, and feed those back into development teams. Your responsibilities will also include assisting customers to safely integrate and validate NVIDIA products in their systems and vehicles, supporting customer-facing safety collateral, and tailoring functional safety platforms and safety analyses for strategic customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent NVIDIA's functional safety strategy and architectures to customers
  • Work closely with customers to understand their functional safety requirements and system architectures
  • Assist customers to safely integrate and validate NVIDIA products in their systems and vehicles
  • Support customer-facing safety collateral
  • Tailor functional safety platforms and safety analyses for strategic customers
  • Collaborate with safety management, solution architects, sales, and technical marketing teams to deliver state-of-the-art products

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent experience) with at least 5 years of relevant experience in system safety, functional safety, or systems engineering
  • Deep understanding of functional safety system architectures needed to meet the ISO 26262 functional safety standard
  • Experience interacting with customers and managing engagements
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ADAS or autonomous vehicle systems, robotics, or industrial safety experience
  • Experience with system safety methodologies and practices (FMEA, FTA, STPA) and safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, UL4600, ISO21448, ISO 8800)
  • Knowledge and experience with ECU/board-level E/E design and validation
