Senior Staff Engineer, Communication & Connectivity

Airbnb is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to join the Communication and Connectivity team. The successful candidate will partner closely with senior leaders across the technical organization, contribute code, and work on general backend architecture and application of AI technologies.

The Communication and Connectivity team is responsible for building tools used daily by millions of guests and hosts, including Messaging, push notifications, and other deep integrations with key operating system features.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to envision a unique, delightful, extensible guest-host communication experience
• Envision and build a scalable foundation for reaching out hosts in need through notifications
• Explore ways to uplift the partner integration platform leveraging advanced AI technology
• Understand how key technical decisions will drive business outcomes and deliver frameworks and platforms that improve delivery with high-quality
• Perform design and code reviews and advise/mentor other engineers at Airbnb

Requirements:

• 12+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field
• Experience building, leading, and architecting full-stack products and systems at enterprise scale with a great impact
• Experience in applying modern artificial intelligence technologies to products and development cycles
• Technical leadership: hands-on experience leading project teams, setting technical direction and strategy, and working cross-functionally with Product and Data Science teams
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Benefits:

• Base pay range: $248,000-$310,000 USD
• Eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits
