Service Technician - Intern

AVL Test Systems, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician Intern to join their team.

As a Service Technician Intern, you will receive hands-on training across AVL systems and gain valuable, real-world experience in various technical areas.

The role involves contributing to multiple functions, including equipment repair, calibration, maintenance, and data entry, building a strong foundation in both electrical and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Calibrate, perform preventative and corrective maintenance of AVL equipment.
• Wire control devices and verify operation.
• Assist in evaluating and repairing AVL equipment.
• Assist in test equipment installation, configuration, maintenance, and calibration.
• Develop and complete a personal training plan.
• Provide feedback on troubleshooting guides and continuous improvement methods.
• Record and document calibrations, diagnostic and performance test results, and maintenance activities.
• Submit timesheets, calibration reports, and other administrative tasks professionally and on time.
• Complete all applicable safety training.

Requirements:

• Strong communication skills and a proactive, positive attitude.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical repair.
• Experience or interest in automotive systems.
• Experience with emissions testing and automotive applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn and grow.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic electronic or precision mechanical assembly knowledge.
• Knowledge and use of fine mechanical hand tools.
• Ability to diagnose problems with simple systems.
• Basic knowledge of personal computer hardware and software.
