Job Description

By joining our team as a 2nd Commis Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Sous Chef in maintaining the state of cleanliness of the Galley and its immediate surroundings, including all equipment utilized in this area.

Key Responsibilities

• Familiarize yourself with USPH regulations and carry out job functions in accordance thereof.
• Collect provision orders from the provision area and store them correctly.
• Assist the Sous Chef in maintaining the cleanliness of the Galley and its surroundings.
• Be familiar with the menu cycles onboard.
• Ensure recipes for all items required during normal duties are available.
• Be familiar with company standards for all tasks and seek guidance from the Sous Chef and CDP if unsure.
• Deliver prepared food items to various food outlets/restaurants in a timely and efficient manner.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• 1 year of prior work experience in a Galley environment and good knowledge of English is essential.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, presentation, and preservation.
• Basic knowledge of Public Health and Sanitation regulations and procedures.
• Basic training in the Galley department is preferred.
• Ability to organize and complete work by deadlines.
• Command of the English language, both verbal and written.
