Description
We are looking for a student intern to work at the interface of industrial automation, IIoT, and generative AI. You will support the setup of a vPLC demo factory and develop modern solutions for engineering, deployment, and automation.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse the existing demo factory, including vPLC setup, connectivity, tools, and limitations, to identify optimisation potentials.
- Build and extend a runnable vPLC demo factory by setting up vPLC instances, integrating IIoT data flows, and enabling test scenarios.
- Implement version management and CI/CD for PLC programs using Git, structured storage, and automated build, test, and deployment processes.
- Integrate and evaluate generative AI to support code creation, configuration, scripting, debugging, and automation potentials.
- Validate and document the overall concept through test scenarios, process comparisons, architecture documentation, and scalability recommendations.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in computer science, automation engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of PLC/SPS, IIoT, MQTT, OPC UA, or Docker.
- Interest in Git, CI/CD, and modern deployment processes.
- Experience with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
- Analytical thinking, structure, and independence in your work style.
