The Operations Maintenance Damage Prevention (O&M D) role supports BP US Terminals & Pipelines by managing Right-of-Way (ROW), Damage Prevention, and permitting-related operational activities.
Based at Freeman Station, Missouri, this position plays a critical role in protecting pipeline assets from third-party damage through field-based ROW oversight, stakeholder coordination, and regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will support pipeline operations across an assigned territory spanning approximately a 250-mile radius from Freeman Station, with occasional travel beyond the designated area.
Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Freeman Station and be comfortable with extensive travel, as this position requires approximately 75% or more travel.

- Perform pipeline identification, location, and marking lines.
- Provide Asset Operational (AO) Permitting on ROW work.
- Monitor work locations and inspect area pipelines.
- Provide inspections of abnormal right of way conditions.
- Conduct hand digging, manual probing, and walking rough terrain.
- Monitor and observe excavation activities.
- Act as a liaison on behalf of BP with stakeholders.
- Recognise third-party scope of work and protect the pipeline.
- Attend Public Awareness & Education meetings.
- Monitor and locate notifications for conflicts.
- Deliver mapping data collection and processing using drones and sub-meter GPS.
- Run inspections for right of way clearing.
- Collect and update attributes and feature types using digital Mapping GIS programs.
- Document and support removal of pipeline encroachments.
- Support internal line inspection (ILI) tool runs.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition.
- Conduct right of way maintenance activities.
- Prepare “as-built” drawings of foreign line crossings.
- Complete Inspection & Repair reports.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
- ROW and/or Line Locating Experience
Additional Competencies & Experience:
- Ability to read maps, alignment sheets, and construction drawings.
- Underground construction experience and knowledge.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
- Conduct and document DOT equipment inspections.
- Use MAXIMO, Utilisphere, CBT, MS Office, and other applications.
- Meet all DOT requirements.
- Participate in all emergency response training.
- Legal authorization to work in the US.
- Computer skills (including MS Office Suites).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Driving safety is mandatory.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card) Card if required.
Job Accountability: Overtime As a condition of employment, all employees must be available to work overtime as needed.
Pay Information: New hires for the O&M D position start at an hourly rate of $35.34. The hourly rate incrementally increases to the O&M D rate $47.60 as the employee progresses through and optimally completes the O&M Skills Training curriculum (approximately 24 months from employment start date).
