Training Supervisor (LGV Driver & Frontline Trainer)

As a Training Supervisor at Biffa, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training to drivers, loaders, operatives, and supervisors across various recycling and waste management contracts in Manchester.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Providing operational support to depots to achieve Vehicle Gate Check, Crew Monitoring, and Route Risk Assessment targets
• Mentoring staff to correct unsafe or non-compliant behaviours
• Reporting major vehicle cleanliness or condition issues to the Business Manager
• Delivering training aligned with Group Training Standards and contractual obligations
• Coaching drivers to improve skills, reduce accidents, and prevent Operator Licence contraventions
• Conducting depot-based training on key operational practices, including wheel torquing, manual handling, and vehicle defect checks

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• An LGV Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence
• A valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
• Working knowledge of transport and other relevant legislation
• Previous experience in the waste or service industry
• Knowledge of working in a time-critical service environment
• IT literacy and comfort using business software and systems, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
