Software Engineer, Intelligence Systems

We're seeking a Software Engineer to join our rapidly-growing team in Reston, Virginia. As a Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy robust full-stack software solutions, spanning front-end user interfaces to resilient back-end services and optimised database interactions. You will proactively maintain, update, and refactor existing mission-critical software systems to ensure longevity and performance.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and deploying full-stack software solutions
• Maintaining and updating existing software systems
• Contributing to software development for critical tasks as needed
• Adhering to software best practices and coding standards
• Performing rapid issue triage and in-depth root cause analysis to diagnose and resolve complex system failures

You will need to work within tight timelines and resource constraints while still delivering a high-quality product. You will be responsible for developing full-stack software solutions to challenging technical problems.

Required qualifications include:

• 1-3 years of experience in full-stack software development
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related STEM field, or equivalent industry experience
• Proven ability to quickly onboard, understand, and contribute effectively to large, complex existing codebases and systems
• A genuine passion for leveraging technology to solve complex national security challenges in a high-stakes, rapid-development environment
• Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience working in C#, Typescript/Javascript, or Java
• Direct experience with SQL Server, including schema design, query optimisation, and stored procedures
• Experience with frontend frameworks (React, Angular)
• Experience in DevOps (CI/CD, containerisation, sharding)
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts, libraries, or experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into software applications
