Search Engineer

You'll build the systems that let anyone turn the open web into a search index. Firecrawl's search product is one of its fastest-growing surfaces, and it needs engineers who can make crawling, ranking, and retrieval fast, reliable, and cheap at scale.

The salary range is $190,000-$260,000/year, with an equity range of up to 0.05%. The company offers a range of benefits, including generous PTO, parental leave, wellness stipends, and learning and development opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build crawling, indexing, and retrieval systems
• Push down latency and cost per query while search volume grows
• Improve ranking quality and freshness for LLM-driven retrieval
• Own services end-to-end, designing, shipping, monitoring, and iterating in production
• Work directly with the Head of Search and the rest of the search team on the roadmap

Requirements:

• 3+ years building production backend or infrastructure systems
• Experience with scalability, latency, and cost optimization
• Ability to own ambiguous problems and turn them into shipped systems
• Comfortable moving fast and closing the loop
