Senior Privacy Engineer

Discord is looking for a Senior Privacy Engineer to join its team in protecting users' data. As a Senior Privacy Engineer, you will build and operate systems that enable data rights for users across the data lifecycle, develop new tools and solutions to optimize the Discord Privacy Program, partner with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, advocate for privacy-preserving solutions, and lead privacy incident response efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Build and operate systems that enable data rights for users across the data lifecycle
• Develop new tools and scalable solutions to optimize the Discord Privacy Program
• Partner with cross-functional teams to conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Advocate for privacy-preserving solutions and act as a privacy subject matter expert
• Lead privacy incident response efforts

Requirements:

• 3+ years of work experience in Privacy or Security engineering
• 3+ years of experience in at least one general-purpose programming language
• 3+ years of experience working in cloud-based environments
• Experience with concepts and practices such as threat modeling and data lifecycle management
• Familiarity with privacy concerns and regulations such as GDPR or CCPA

Bonus Points:

• Experience developing, operating, and debugging distributed systems
• Experience with modern data platform infrastructure
• Experience integrating internal systems with privacy and risk management platforms

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $196,000 to $220,500 + equity + benefits.
