Credit Union Underwriter

We are seeking a Credit Union Underwriter to join our team at Honda Federal Credit Union in Marysville, Ohio.

As a Credit Union Underwriter, you will provide expertise in underwriting, structuring, documenting, approving or denying member loan requests for all non-real estate loans, including credit cards, personal loans, boat, RV, auto, and indirect loans.

Key responsibilities include:

• Underwriting loan applications by reviewing member information, analyzing credit bureaus, verifying collateral value, and determining the overall ability for the member to repay
• Reviewing and making decisions on indirect loan applications with professional and courteous dealer interaction
• Providing timely cross-sale information, counter offers, credit line reviews/closures to internal teams
• Participating in ongoing education and training

To qualify, you will need:

• A high school diploma or General Education degree
• Two years of related experience and/or relevant training
• Working knowledge of state and federal lending regulations
• Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Reasoning ability to structure loan offers, understand regulations, policies, and procedures
• Member service and communication skills
• Negotiation skills
• Analytics and creative reasoning
