The AI-Core Team is developing a scalable Agentic AI platform for agents that perform real engineering tasks. The platform involves solving complex problems like agent identity, delegated access, and secure isolated execution.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement backend APIs and services for the agentic platform
  • Build the agent identity and machine-to-machine authentication system
  • Develop the agent knowledge base and memory layer
  • Create the observability layer for agents
  • Build the governance and safety layer
  • Develop the orchestration layer for multi-step agent workflows
  • Collaborate with various teams to integrate with the broader Okta platform

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with production backend systems
  • 1+ year of experience with AI/ML or agentic applications
  • Strong proficiency in a backend language (Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Go)
  • Experience with distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and serverless technologies
  • Security-conscious mindset with familiarity with OAuth, OIDC, and modern auth patterns
  • Comfort working in ambiguous environments with evolving problem definitions

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to LLM integration, RAG pipelines, MCP, or agent orchestration frameworks
  • Experience with policy-as-code authorization, agent identity patterns, or developer-facing APIs and SDKs

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range: $194,000-$267,000 USD
