Description
We're looking for a summer intern to join our brand and social team at OfferUp. As a Marketing Intern, Social & Creative, you'll help brainstorm, brief, capture, and execute social-first creative that brings the OfferUp marketplace to life, especially for Gen Z and young millennial audiences.
You'll work closely with our social team to identify trends and cultural moments OfferUp can credibly join, shape short-form video concepts, run lightweight man-on-the-street interviews, and bring a fresh point of view on resale, local discovery, side hustles, and everyday life.
Responsibilities
- Brainstorm and develop ideas for the organic social calendar alongside our social team.
- Identify trends, formats, creators, and conversations OfferUp can authentically participate in.
- Support short-form video concepts for TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, and beyond , capturing or appearing in content depending on your comfort and fit.
- Run lightweight man-on-the-street interviews on campus or in local communities.
- Help with briefs, shot lists, content organization, and basic production coordination.
- Monitor what's resonating, and get exposure to paid creative testing, campaign operations, and performance analysis.
Requirements
- A student or recent grad interested in marketing, social, brand, creative strategy, or consumer tech.
- Deep familiarity with how people actually consume and share content today across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Strong creative instincts and the ability to explain why an idea will or won't land.
- Good judgment, clockwork reliability, and a proactive, low-ego, high-energy approach.
Nice to Have
- Experience making short-form content, interviewing people, editing video, or writing hooks and captions.
- Comfortable on camera.
- A real perspective on resale, thrifting, sustainability, local shopping, dorm/apartment setup, or how Gen Z finds deals.
- Up-to-date on the latest trends in social.
Compensation The hourly rate for this internship is $24–$27. Placement within this range is based on academic standing, relevant coursework or prior internship experience, and demonstrated skills applicable to the role.
