Description
The Sr. Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for driving, influencing, and achieving EHS process excellence, regulatory compliance, and overall risk reduction throughout Shield AI. This role also supports the development and execution of ground-breaking aircraft engineering, test, production, and maintenance safety programs for the next generation of unmanned airpower.
Reporting to the Corporate EHS Manager Program Manager, the position is instrumental in upholding world-class safety standards and engaging with senior engineering and operations leadership to facilitate continuous safety improvements and risk reduction.

Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as a key advisor and technical expert on EHS and Electrical/HV safety matters, providing guidance on compliance, risk management, and MV/HV safety
- Maintaining a visible field presence through learning-focused observations, assurance activities, and regular audits; documenting findings, overseeing adherence to EHS plans, evaluating PPE/safety equipment, and escalating non-conformances in collaboration with stakeholders
- Responding to EHS incidents by analyzing root causes, developing preventive actions, promoting Human & Organizational - Performance principles, and delivering detailed findings/recommendations to management and teams
- Identifying operational gaps and spearheading creative, innovative EHS solutions,applying first-principles thinking,while collaborating with engineering, operations, and other stakeholders to address electrical and broader safety challenges
- Leading EHS meetings to communicate improvements, learnings, performance metrics, and best practices; actively engaging in field activities to educate, train, and empower teams on risk minimization aligned with Shield AI’s vision and values
- Continuously improving safety protocols for Frisco, TX production facility aircraft builds and vehicle tests, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, regulatory requirements, and industry advancements
- Supporting the development of specialized training on MV/HV electrical safety, lifting/rigging equipment, chemical safety management, among other safety programs while staying updated on emerging regulations to drive innovation
