Description
We're seeking a Resident Solution Architect to join our team. You will work closely with our customers to understand their business challenges and requirements, and then architect and implement solutions using Starburst products.
Your responsibilities will include collaborating with customers to understand their business goals, data architecture, and technical requirements.
You will design end-to-end solutions that leverage Starburst products to address customer needs, including data access, analytics, and performance optimisation.
You will develop architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans for customer projects.
You will lead the implementation and deployment of Starburst solutions, working closely with customer teams and internal stakeholders.
You will learn in-depth how the engine, connectors, and integrations with third-party products work.
You will provide technical guidance and best practices to customers on using Starburst products effectively.
You will work with partners to train and upskill external personnel on Starburst products for successful delivery.
You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to create resources, best practices, application flow diagrams, and internal processes that enhance partner delivery capabilities.
You will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the implementation and operation of Starburst solutions.
You will stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management and analytics.
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
You will require 8+ years of experience in a technical role, such as solution architect, data engineer, or software engineer.
You will need a deep understanding of data architecture principles, including data modelling, data integration, and data warehousing.
You will need proficiency in SQL and experience with distributed query engines, such as Presto, Trino, or Apache Spark.
You will need strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about business challenges and technical solutions.
You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and internal teams.
Experience with Linux OS, cloud platforms, containerisation technologies, and programming/scripting languages is a plus.
Prior experience in client-facing/consulting roles is highly desirable.
Prior experience with open-source technologies and contributions to the open-source community are highly desirable.
Prior experience with running technical training internally or externally is highly desirable.
Familiarity with LLM-based data interaction patterns is a plus.
Understanding of AI governance, data security, and risks associated with AI-generated queries and insights is a plus.
This role requires 25% in-person travel for purposes including new hire onboarding, team and department offsites, and customer meetings.
