Duolingo is seeking a Head of Talent Management Programs & PMO to lead the development and implementation of critical talent systems. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in translating people strategy into scalable programs and ensuring seamless execution.
About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned professional to architect, run, and continuously improve Duolingo's talent management programs and Project Management Office (PMO). You will report to the Head of Talent Management & Rewards and focus on designing and implementing programs that foster a high-performance culture, drive talent growth, and ensure strategic alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Program Architecture & Strategy
- Design end-to-end talent programs, including performance management, feedback, and promotion frameworks.
- Develop standardized competency models and career ladders for global functions.
- Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning to identify high-potential leaders.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to provide managers with tools and insights for high-performing teams.
Portfolio Leadership & PMO Governance
- Manage the integrated roadmap for Talent Management & Rewards, ensuring project health and resource allocation.
- Establish a lean project management methodology prioritizing speed and impact.
- Coordinate with Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, and Business Leadership to integrate talent initiatives.
Performance Analytics & Insights
- Develop an enterprise performance framework with key metrics to measure program ROI.
- Conduct data-driven analysis to inform policy and resource decisions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Talent Management, People Operations, and portfolio/program management.
- Experience with AI tools in talent program design, analytics, and portfolio management.
- Proven track record in building or leading a PMO with complex programs.
- In-depth knowledge of modern talent practices, including performance systems, org design, and succession planning.
- Expertise in program/project management frameworks and process improvement.
- Strong data fluency and product mindset for people analytics.
- Excellent executive communication and influencing skills.
