Contingent Facilities Technician

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in Santa Clarita, California. This role requires a proactive individual who is willing to take initiative, perform a wide range of maintenance tasks, and grow their knowledge in facility operations, safety, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance and repair tasks including plumbing, drywall patching, painting and basic electrical work
• Coordinate preventative maintenance programs for building systems and equipment
• Support facility upkeep including cleaning, repairs, and labor-intensive tasks such as furniture deployments
• Safely lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 lbs.
• Create and manage purchase orders
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for larger repair or maintenance projects
• Utilize Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor and support facility operations
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and system updates
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and government regulations
• Assist with handling and awareness of hazardous materials in accordance with guidelines
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
• Support emergency repairs and be available for overtime and weekend work as needed.

Requirements:

• 1–2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
• Basic knowledge of plumbing systems, HVAC systems, drywall repair, electrical systems
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Experience with or willingness to learn Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to perform physically demanding tasks
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Strong communication and organizational skills Experience creating purchase orders and coordinating with vendors
• Exposure to facility compliance, safety standards, or regulatory requirements
• Basic understanding of hazardous material handling
• Trade school or technical certification (a plus but not required)
• Willing to operate heavy equipment such as Forklifts, Aerial Lifts, Scissor lifts.
