Description
As a staff software engineer on the Automation Foundation team, you will play a critical role in providing world-class customer service for Airbnb's community of guests and hosts. You will lead two key areas: the Automation Platform, a large-scale conversational AI platform, and automation provisioning for internal human agents and AI agents. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive success metrics such as NPS, CSAT, and time-to-resolution.
A typical day will involve collaborating with product, design, engineering, and data science teams to develop backend systems and enhance AI prompt effectiveness. You will drive the technical vision and strategy for workflow and backend optimization, leading and contributing to the full development cycle: technical design, implementation, testing, experimentation, and deployment.
We are looking for a seasoned software engineer with 9+ years of experience in service-oriented architectures and backend development. You should have expertise in workflow optimization and backend systems, with a focus on scalable and flexible architecture. You should also be proficient in crafting backend systems focusing on technical quality, efficiency, and resilience.
In addition to your technical expertise, you should have excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams and domains. You should be passionate about agile development, system optimization, and team productivity enhancements.
