We're looking for an engineering manager to lead the Safe Change team, building continuous-deployment and feature-flagging systems that make changes safe and reliable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of engineers building Anthropic's continuous-deployment, configuration, and feature-flagging platforms
- Set technical direction for safe deployment of code, infrastructure, and configuration
- Partner with product, inference, security, and infrastructure teams to migrate services onto the paved path
- Drive the roadmap for progressive rollouts, health-check automation, and expansion to new deployment surfaces
- Define and track metrics for deployment safety and speed
- Create clarity for the team and stakeholders in an ambiguous environment
- Take an inclusive approach to hiring, coaching, and career development
- Represent the team across the engineering organization
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience managing and growing a team of software engineers
- Hands-on software engineering background as an individual contributor
- Experience building or operating backend, distributed, or infrastructure systems
- Working knowledge of modern deployment and cloud-native tooling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of engineering management experience
- Experience owning continuous delivery, release engineering, or deployment-safety systems
- Familiarity with progressive delivery techniques
- Experience with feature flagging or experimentation platforms
- Background in observability, health checking, or incident response
- Track record of building a culture of belonging and engineering excellence
The annual compensation range for this role is $405,000-$485,000 USD.
