Senior Research Scientist

We are seeking a Senior Research Scientist to join our Artist-First AI Music lab. Our team pioneers and advances state-of-the-art generative technologies for music that create breakthrough experiences for fans and artists.

The role involves conducting groundbreaking research in music generation, running large-scale experiments, creating practical applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and engaging with the broader research community.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research in music generation using diffusion, flow matching, or autoregressive models
• Run large-scale experiments with access to Spotify's extensive infrastructure
• Create practical applications that harness generative technologies
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, product managers, designers, user researchers, and analysts
• Publish findings, deliver talks, and attend top conferences

Requirements:

• Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in generative modeling, machine learning, music information retrieval, speech processing, audio processing, signal processing, probabilistic modeling, computer vision, or related areas
• Publications in top conferences such as ICASSP, ISMIR, INTERSPEECH, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI, NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ECCV, ICCV
• Strong coding skills in Python, PyTorch, NumPy
• Creative problem-solving skills and passion for building outstanding products

Location:

• Flexible work location within the North Americas region
• Core working hours are CET 3pm-6pm / EST 9am-12pm

Salary:

• $164,231 - $234,615 plus equity
