Description
As a physical therapist at Sanford Health and Good Samaritan Society, you will diagnose and treat individuals with conditions that limit their ability to move and work. Your goal will be to improve their quality of life by alleviating pain and increasing physical function.
Our physical therapy treatment plans require flexibility, collaboration, out-of-the-box thinking, and problem-solving to provide our patients/residents the best care possible. This may involve lifting and transferring patients/residents, as well as being on your feet every day.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organise, and deliver physical therapy programmes to help patients/residents recover and improve their mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and prevent deformities.
- Document patient information for evaluation.
- Educate patients/residents and their family members about treatment plans/schedules and self-exercises to be continued at home.
- Demonstrate documentation in accordance with departmental guidelines and meet all regulatory requirements.
- Analyse and record the therapeutic progress of patients/residents; recommend necessary adjustments.
- Follow guidelines, regulations, standards, and safety procedures in the therapy process.
Qualifications:
- Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
- Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as a Physical Therapist.
- When applicable, may require a valid driver's licence.
- Obtain and subsequently maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications. Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
