Description

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Omen team at its Costa Mesa HQ. The Omen is an autonomous air vehicle that operates independently of runways, offering flexibility across defense and civilian domains.

The successful candidate will work on new aircraft development in a fast-paced environment, directly influencing the product and working at a rapid pace to test new designs within months.

Responsibilities

  • Execute an Agile Systems Engineering approach for the development of the Omen Capability
  • Support design teams in evolving Technical Performance Measures throughout the design process
  • Participate in System Design Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, and Safety Review Boards
  • Maintain Functional Decomposition, System Breakdown Structure, Product Breakdown Structure, and Architecture diagrams
  • Develop Systems Engineering design artifacts, including System Description Documents and Interface Control Documents
  • Champion the use of the Test and Evaluation Master Plan to enable system maturation
  • Shape the design of Hardware In Lab and Hardware In The Loop physical integration environments
  • Coordinate issue board workflows and configuration management processes
  • Support Systems Safety and Airworthiness efforts
  • Develop and own the Omen System Verification Plan
  • Support build, ground, and flight tests of prototype and production Omen Systems

Required Qualifications and Attributes

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
  • 5+ years of industry Systems Engineering experience in safety-critical hardware and software systems, particularly in Defense or Aerospace industries
  • Demonstrable Systems Engineering proficiency, including requirement solicitation and collaboration with design teams
  • Experience with technical software packages such as Teamcenter, JIRA, JAMA, Cameo, and Ansys
  • Familiarity with guidelines, standards, and processes such as ARP-4754, ARP-4761, DO-178C, DO-254, JSSSEH, MIL-STD 882E, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-516C, MIL-STD-461, AC-17-01
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance in the United States, United Kingdom, or Australia
