Description
A US Privacy Counsel will give practical, business-oriented legal advice and counsel on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and European data protection matters to stakeholders across the organisation. They will assess legal risks, develop mitigation strategies, and provide guidance on complex issues including international data transfers, consent management, legitimate interests assessments, and data subject rights.
The role involves developing and communicating Palantir's positions on key data protection issues to prospective and current customers, particularly in relation to the GDPR and other key privacy laws and regulations. They will partner closely with the commercial legal team to help accelerate and facilitate customer discussions and directly support complex negotiations.
Key responsibilities include serving as a legal advisor on GDPR and European data protection matters, defining and developing Palantir's substantive positions on data protection agreements, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating data processing agreements (DPAs), and assisting in defining and building infrastructure to effectively communicate Palantir's data protection positions in a scalable manner.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability developing creative and analytical solutions to novel issues, ability to multitask, problem solve, and balance competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment, and willingness to learn and implement new data privacy laws across the globe.
