Description
The Policy & Communications team at Airbnb is looking for a Senior Policy Economist to support their work with communities and stakeholders around the world. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling and economics, including experience with AI, and be able to communicate complex analyses to non-technical stakeholders.
As a Senior Policy Economist, you will work closely with the policy team to provide data-driven insights on high-impact topics such as regulation, housing, tourism, economic development/impact, and taxes. You will use AI/ML and econometric models to derive insights from legislation and other data sources, and collaborate with academics and experts on policy research topics.
Your expertise will be essential in mapping and spatial analysis of data, creating amazing visualizations to convey key concepts, and converting insights into 'Data Journalism' useful for our communications team. You will also build prototypes, dashboards, and other tools to scale data usage across a large organization.
We are looking for someone with an advanced degree in a quantitative field, 4+ years of experience in data modeling & analysis, and excellent project management, communication, and teamwork skills. You should be able to perform complex strategic analysis, have knowledge of data tools including R/Python, SQL, Data Visualization, GIS, and exposure to the policy and economics domain.
