Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team at Porsche. As a Research Assistant, you will be responsible for conducting research on modelling of melting processes and phase transitions. Your tasks will include:
Literature research on the topic of modelling of melting processes and phase transitions Investigation of physical mechanisms of heat transfer (e.g. through hot gas flow, particles) Development of a simulation method to model the adaptive fluid interface during melting processes (including implementation of user subroutines within Star-CCM+) Evaluation of models regarding accuracy of representable physics, coupling possibilities, and computation times Investigation of suitable validation methods Presentation of results and participation in interdisciplinary exchange in corporate-wide working groups
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, physics, or related fields, with a focus on fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, simulation, and software development. You should have experience with 3D CFD simulation software, preferably with Star-CCM+, and be familiar with programming languages such as Python or C++.

Required skills:
