Description
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Developer Experience to join our Developer Experience (DevEx) team. This role blends hands-on developer tooling engineering with performance and reliability expertise. You will own tooling that spans the full developer lifecycle, from local development environments and CI/CD pipelines to performance testing frameworks and AI-powered automation.
Your day-to-day will involve designing, building, and maintaining reusable developer tooling, enabling a consistent and friction-free local development experience for engineers, and building and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines that provide fast, reliable feedback loops. You will also identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the developer workflow through proactive engagement with engineering teams and contribute to and enforce standards for code reusability and maintainability across packages and libraries.
You will integrate AI tooling into CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows to accelerate delivery, build AI-assisted automation for test generation, code review, and performance anomaly detection, and evaluate and adopt emerging AI developer tools. You will design intelligent observability solutions using AI to surface actionable signals from Datadog and other monitoring platforms and partner with cross-functional teams to embed AI capabilities into the full software delivery lifecycle.
What you'll bring to the team:
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on developer tooling, platform engineering, or DevOps
- A strong systems thinker who can navigate both platform-level architecture and the day-to-day pain points of individual engineers
- Excitement about AI and a willingness to apply it to real engineering problems
- Strong communication skills, able to translate technical findings into business-relevant insights
- Comfortable working in a cross-geography setup and leading and mentoring peers in a distributed environment
- A quality-first mindset and a champion of best practices in testing, observability, and release confidence
