AVL Powertrain UK is seeking an Electrified Powertrain Development Engineer to work closely with customers to develop, test and optimise the performance of their Electrified Powertrain for future vehicle programs.
The successful candidate will join the team with the primary objective to work closely with our customers to develop, test and optimise the performance of their Electrified Powertrain for future vehicle programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the testing campaign from requirement definition to data analysis and reporting
- Definition of the testing requirement (technical and timing) with the Subject Matter Expert
- Supervision of the testing facility set up, to ensure Rig and Unit Under Test fulfil requirement (BoM creation)
- On site support at customer or other facilities as appropriate to monitor and ensure good delivery of the testing campaign
- Timely data processing and data analysis that will be used to make engineering decisions
- Daily summary updates on project and testing status to all project stakeholders
- Responsibility to ensure any issues have been formally logged on and assigned
- Technical direction to test facilities & other stakeholders
- Support internal AVL presentations and participate in trainings and knowledge exchange
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2:1 Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering area (Mechanical, Automotive, etc) and experience in powertrain development or testing.
In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills with ability to summarise and make clear technical recommendations across multifunctional disciplines with supporting data.
As a self-starter with the ability to work with high level instruction, minimal detail breakdown and to be able to seek out relevant information, data and support from other engineering groups, the successful candidate will be able to communicate technical information effectively, both written and verbal, with AVL and customer team members.
Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as the successful candidate will be required to move onto other commodities (e.g. battery/charging/inverter).
