Description
The Data Center Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs) at Amazon are frontline responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical operations and troubleshooting.
This role involves operating and maintaining mechanical, electrical, generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center, as well as troubleshooting facility equipment and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating and maintaining data center equipment
- Troubleshooting facility equipment and rack-level events
- Performing limited maintenance tasks such as filter changes, HVAC PMs, rack power installs, and rack PDU and ATS replacements
- Providing support to Data Center Operations technicians
- Conducting root cause analysis of equipment failures
- Ensuring adherence to all safety procedures
- Writing procedures
- Working rotating 12-hour shifts, including 3 and 4-day work weeks, days or nights
- Taking daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment
- Utilizing internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventory
- Supervising contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance
- Responding to off-hour emergency calls per on-call rotation
- Complying with all physical security procedures and policies
- Driving innovation while reducing operational costs in facilities
This position requires the selected candidate to be a US citizen with an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph after starting the role.
