Network Engineer

About the Role

The Network Engineering team at xAI handles a dynamic, constantly growing and evolving global network that provides a reliable, high-performance and secure network behind one of the few products in the world that touches over 1 billion people. You will be a Network Engineer who is proficient with the fundamentals, and eager to grow your skills on a global network. You are a motivated pragmatic thinker, eager to get the job done while finding a balance between shipping and quality.

Responsibilities

• Define configuration and architecture standards
• Contribute to the qualification of new platforms
• Provision network devices in corporate offices and POPs as per documented procedures
• Manage corporate circuits
• Improve configuration standards and operational procedures
• Enhance corporate device monitoring
• Liaise with third parties, IT, and remote office users to resolve issues
• Create and execute scheduled changes, processes, and documentation
• Participate in on-call rotation
• Maintain and upgrade existing systems, including firmware updates and configurations
• Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability
• Troubleshoot network hardware and software problems

Basic Qualifications

• Understand BGP configuration and management
• Knowledge of backbone and datacenter networks
• Familiarity with wireless technologies
• Understanding of internal routing protocols, configuration, and day-to-day operation
• Knowledge of corporate networking
• Understanding of TCP/IP
• Knowledge of remote access
• Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Familiarity with multiple networking vendors, such as Juniper, Cisco, Aruba, Arista
• Experience with remote access
• Knowledge of network security and NAC
• Scripting and automation of network operations activities
