Physical Therapist Assistant - Surgical Center

We are seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Surgery Center team. As a member of Team Rehabilitation's Surgery Center team, you will play a critical role in the patient's journey toward recovery and independence. Your primary focus will be providing hands-on mobility assistance and essential education to patients and their support systems to ensure a safe transition from surgery center to home.

Responsibilities:

• Work alongside nursing staff to help patients recover after total joint replacement surgery
• Instruct patients and caregivers on prescribed exercises and physician protocols
• Provide guidance on effective pain management techniques and recovery expectations
• Train patients on the proper use and maintenance of DME, including immobilizers, SCD pumps, walkers, and gait belts
• Provide gait training education to improve the patient's walking pattern and stability
• Physically assist and supervise patients as they navigate stairs
• Demonstrate and assist with safe transfer techniques
• Provide direct physical assistance during the discharge process

Qualifications:

• Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant
• Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license (or eligibility to obtain)
