Sr. Software Engineer--M365 Routing Fabric Team

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Software Engineer to join the Substrate Unified Fabric team, driving modernization of cloud routing through RouteResolutionService. This core platform component delivers accurate, efficient, and secure routing for Microsoft 365 workloads across global infrastructure.

The successful candidate will design and implement features in RouteResolutionService, build distributed systems, work with large-scale services, drive technical excellence, and mentor other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement features in RouteResolutionService to support different Microsoft 365 scenarios, including Copilot.
• Develop distributed, highly available, and resilient systems.
• Collaborate on services handling thousands of servers, tens of billions of transactions, and hundreds of millions of users.
• Drive technical excellence through code reviews, architecture design, and mentoring.
• Build Agentic-loop to accelerate development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, and 6+ years of technical engineering experience.
• Industry experience in service development, shipping services through multiple releases.
• Understanding of distributed systems and AI/ML-driven decision systems.
• Experience with large-scale online services, robust performance, resiliency, telemetry, and security.
• Solid collaboration and communication skills.
