The Senior Software Engineer, VMS role is part of Anduril's Maritime Division, which focuses on creating software and hardware solutions for maritime operations.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will independently drive the delivery of embedded and safety-critical software integrated into Anduril's products. This includes:

  • Designing and implementing trusted, safety-critical Vehicle Management Systems
  • Developing scalable vehicle subsystems, including sensor processing and state estimation
  • Contributing to the design and development of reusable software components across Anduril's product lines
  • Developing real-time embedded software using an RTOS
  • Creating test and simulation fixtures for software and hardware-in-the-loop
  • Supporting vehicle manufacturing and deployment
  • Working as a member of a multidisciplinary engineering team
  • Traveling up to 20% of the time to co-locate with end-users or other teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field
  • Experience and proficiency in writing C
  • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
  • Familiarity with communications busses and protocols
  • Systems programming skills, including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and optimization
  • Capacity to act as a technical owner for a software component
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in designing and developing embedded applications in autonomous vehicle software systems
  • Experience with high-assurance safety-critical software applications
  • Experience in developing interfaces to sensors and actuators
  • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems
  • Experience working with and testing electrical and mechanical systems
