CNC Machinist

We are currently seeking a competent and skilled Machinist to join our team at McLaren Composites Technology Centre (MCTC).

As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating machinery, fixtures, and tooling safely and effectively to meet the production plan.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Team Leader with completion of minor maintenance tasks and activities, and potentially covering when the TL is offsite
• Upskilling and training of new hires
• Ensuring the work area is clean, tidy, and orderly at all times in line with brand expectations and maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others
• Providing a proactive contribution to innovation and problem-solving
• Providing support on all processes in the department

To be successful in this role, you will require:

• A minimum of 2 years' working experience as a CNC Machinist with a proven record in CNC machine setting and operation
• Comprehensive understanding of industry standards and regulations to ensure guidelines are followed and machinery and equipment are operated safely
• Knowledge of Siemens control systems and CAM/CAD software is an advantage
• Developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job expertise
• Extensive knowledge of CNC tooling, including tool wear and performance, and setting using pre-setters
• Comprehensive understanding of work offsets
• Experienced in calibration using DTI clocks
• Experienced in using measuring equipment, thread gauges, plug gauges, calipers, etc.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Ability to inspect your own work and follow detailed engineering drawings
• PC literate
