Description

We're looking for a skilled Sr. Site Reliability Engineer to join our Compute SRE team. As a Sr. SRE, you will design and build systems, platforms, tools, frameworks, and methodologies to ensure the reliability of our large-scale distributed systems.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Tackling project challenges on EKS, such as implementing Karpenter.
  • Collaborating across various teams to drive projects forward using open-source tools.
  • Building a deep understanding of how Pinterest's systems behave, scale, interact, and fail, and using that insight to identify risks and opportunities for remediation.
  • Building tools and automation to eliminate toil and reduce operational overhead.
  • Building meaningful, insightful, and actionable SLIs.
  • Automating critical portions of Pinterest's engineering processes to minimize risk and maximize the speed of innovation.
  • Managing capacity and performance to help scale our infrastructure both on public and private clouds around the world.
  • Using AI for analysis of incidents, operational signals, and system behaviors to help identify patterns and generate plans and propose remediation approaches.

In return, you'll have the opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technology.

We're looking for someone with strong knowledge of Kubernetes (specially EKS), including deploy patterns, rollout safety, and core debugging workflows. You should also have 4+ years of experience with programming languages (Python or Golang preferred) and strong experience managing projects and initiatives end-to-end.
