Ocean Operations Associate

Job Summary

The Ocean Operations Associate role is critical to Flexport's mission to make global trade easy for everyone. You will work directly with customers, account management teams, subcontractors, carriers, terminals, and trucking providers to support end customers in achieving their logistics goals.

Responsibilities

• Execute booking and documentation processes with clients and carriers
• Troubleshoot and escalate shipment exceptions in a timely manner
• Collaborate with Flexport Account Management and Planning teams to ensure effective end-to-end export processes
• Coach junior specialists on daily tasks
• Plan and execute special freight operations (e.g., DG, reefer)
• Assist Senior Associates with new business/process implementation, projects, and tasks
• Provide expertise to internal and external clients to inform decision-making
• Develop and implement procedures and systems to differentiate Flexport operations from the industry

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, ocean carrier operations, or consulting (ocean freight knowledge is a plus)
