Description
We're looking for a machine learning expert to join our Data Science team at Airbnb. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will work at the intersection of insurance, personalization, and machine learning to build intelligent systems that help guests discover the right coverage at the right moment.
You will be responsible for owning hard problems end-to-end, from prototype to production, and contributing to the development of personalization and recommendation systems at scale. This includes package personalization and ML-based recommendation, content personalization, intent modeling, journey understanding and optimization, and high-velocity experimentation.
You will work closely with product managers, engineers, operations, legal, and privacy partners to align on ML requirements, de-risk design decisions, and gather requirements on explainability and compliance. You will also be responsible for presenting findings and proposals at team reviews and to technical, product, and executive stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in machine learning, including experience with algorithms such as gradient-boosted trees and deep learning. You will also need to have excellent communication skills and be able to make complex ML work legible to non-technical stakeholders.
This is a remote eligible position, and you must live in a state where Airbnb has a registered entity. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
