Description

Set a course for adventure with Princess Cruises, the employer of choice in the cruise industry. As a Fleet Traveling Finance Director, you will serve as the central source of knowledge within the shipboard Finance department, providing comprehensive training, support, and guidance to Finance personnel across all areas of responsibility. This role requires regular ship visits to provide guidance, assessments, and inspections of onboard Finance operations, as well as serving as the primary liaison for Finance-related queries between shipboard and shoreside teams. You will also perform audits to ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting standards, support training, coaching, and development of shipboard Finance personnel, and assist in creating, updating, and implementing accounting policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fleet Finance Oversight: Conduct regular ship visits to provide guidance, assessments, and inspections of onboard Finance operations.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Serve as the primary liaison for Finance-related queries between shipboard and shoreside teams.
  • Compliance & Audit: Perform audits to ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting standards.
  • Talent Development: Support training, coaching, and development of shipboard Finance personnel.
  • Policy & Procedure Management: Assist in creating, updating, and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
  • Operational Efficiency: Identify and implement best practices and process improvements across the fleet.
  • Technology & Systems Enhancement: Collaborate on IT priorities and participate in testing system upgrades impacting Finance processes.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct analyses to support decision-making and optimize operational performance.
  • Project Support: Provide expertise on specialized projects assigned by senior leadership.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain reference materials to standardize Finance operations fleet-wide.
  • Emergency Coverage: Assume shipboard Finance roles during emergencies to ensure continuity.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as needed to support corporate and fleet Finance objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent diploma) in Finance, Accounting, Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of onboard Finance department operations, including policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in financial roles within cruise ship operations or equivalent corporate finance environment.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and self-driven professional with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally across all organizational levels.
  • Strong relationship-building capabilities and professional demeanor; able to collaborate effectively with shipboard and corporate teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to design training materials and deliver effective training sessions to diverse audiences.
  • Innovative and hands-on approach to planning and execution; capable of providing sound leadership and motivating teams toward company objectives.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, including weekends and holidays.
