Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Raymond, Ohio. As an entry-level chassis design engineer, you will be responsible for designing chassis parts and systems that meet targeted schedule and deliver outstanding performance, quality, reliability, value, and enjoyment to Honda's customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Achieve Performance, Quality, Cost and Delivery Targets by carrying out duties under the guidance of more senior engineers.
• Think critically and apply fundamental engineering principles to complex targets.
• Plan and coordinate activities with other design, test, factory, purchasing, and suppliers.
• Create own schedules with milestones and trigger points, and share with related groups.
• Attend meetings, lead occasionally, and give constructive thoughts along with keeping track of open items.
• Review costs to ensure it meets the design intentions and provide solutions if it does not.
• Model parts and systems in 3D and release 2D drawings and specifications using CATIA & MS office.
• Proactively share development progress with your function members and Chief to confirm proper direction, successful completion or raise awareness of concerns.
• Complete all required training and share best practices with your peers.
• Create Value & Innovation through studying technical trends and new technology, consider more efficient processes to support your work, make proposals that create new value for your department, Honda or our customers and confirm application of development strategies for your area of responsibility.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience - Co-op Experience preferred.
• CAD software (CATIA V5/V6) or closely related, Microsoft Office.
