PreOp PACU Nurse

As a PreOp PACU Nurse at Medical City Surgery Center of North Texas, you will play a crucial role in preparing patients for surgery and ensuring their safe recovery.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing patients' care areas before procedures
• Ensuring necessary equipment and supplies are available
• Conducting thorough physical and psychological assessments of patients
• Administering pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed
• Exhibiting proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks
• Checking dressings and operative sites, reporting any abnormalities to surgeons
• Ensuring patients meet discharge criteria

To qualify for this role, you will need:

• An Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma, or a higher degree in Nursing
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU, or Surgery
• An active RN license as required by the state of employment
• BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not accepted)
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire
• PALS if required by the facility within 30 days of hire
