We're looking for a Mobile Plant Operator to join our team at our Trecatti Landfill Site. As a Mobile Plant Operator, you will operate heavy plant (compactor, tracked loading shovel, ADT excavator etc.) to maximize void usage and ensure compliance with Site Environmental Permit.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate mobile plant on landfill site to ensure compliance with Environmental Permit.
  • Undertake pre-start checks of heavy plant and equipment and to ensure routine maintenance of plant and defects are reported on a daily basis.
  • Compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act and any other relevant legislation and Group standards.
  • Reporting Accidents, near miss and incidents in a timely manner.
  • Attending SIT meetings and any other safety-related tasks to raise the standards at site.
  • Engaging and driving operational excellence as directed by other stakeholders on site.
  • Promoting a positive safety, health and wellbeing culture at site.
  • Ensuring a good customer care and positive interactions with customers, drivers and other stakeholders.
  • Litter picking and other general labouring duties.
  • Attend internal and external training courses to increase competency and continual professional development.

Requirements:

  • CITB Health & Safety Test or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in operating heavy plant.
  • Awareness of the purpose and application of Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Communication skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Reliable/punctual/flexible.
  • Ability to fit in with other team members and work as part of a team.
  • Good organisation and communication skills.
  • Robust and resilient, able to absorb pressure and respond positively.
