Backend Engineer, Payments Experiences

We're looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to join our Global Payments Experiences team in Sao Paulo. As a key member of this team, you will design and implement new payment methods for Stripe, focusing on LATAM and North America. You will work closely with internal and external partners to expand regional, non-card payment options and ensure Stripe's systems work well for merchants globally.

Responsibilities:

• Design and reason about integration experiences with a strong focus on end-user simplicity and developer experience
• Build back-end services and integrations across solutions across Stripe's payments product
• Engage and interact with external partners to determine and build technical solutions
• Engage directly with users to understand their business needs and translate requirements into concrete solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, partnerships, eng platforms, and other engineering teams to deliver these solutions
• Contribute to software platforms used across payments at Stripe

Requirements:

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong command of verbal and written English language
• Experience working across geographies
• Experience building extensible, leveraged software solutions that scale to different kinds of user needs, with the ability to empathize with users and advocate for exceptional user experiences

Preferred qualifications:

• Previous experiences working in payments and on payments technology
• Previous experience using Stripe products
