Job Opportunity
Join our experienced and ambitious team at Asobo Studio, where we have previously developed A Plague Tale: Innocence and A Plague Tale: Requiem. As a Level Designer, you will be encouraged to express your full potential and continue developing your expertise.
With a small team size, you will have the opportunity to take on responsibilities, work independently, and become a reference point for several aspects of design. You will contribute to the development of our new project, a narrative-driven action-adventure game in third-person perspective.
Your Team
You will join the Design department under the supervision of Damien, Lead Level Designer. Our team consists of a Level Artist, a Level Builder, and a Narrative Level Designer. Together, we are responsible for designing and developing multiple levels of the game. You will collaborate with other teams, including Game Designers and QA.
Your Missions
- Design and create captivating levels, from analysis to proposal of adapted and feasible solutions
- Take charge of designing and balancing specific gameplay features, in collaboration with artists and programmers to ensure a smooth and engaging gaming experience
- Have the freedom to test new ideas and innovate to push the boundaries of Level Design
- Prototype levels and ensure regular updates to Level Design documents to make them clear and accessible to the entire team
- Manage level testing in close collaboration with the QA team to ensure quality and compliance with project objectives
Fundamentals for Success
- Previous experience in a game development production from start to finish
- Mastery of different phases of level design (block out, prototypes, successive passes) and ability to translate design intentions into an engaging gameplay
- Strong creativity and solid video game culture, particularly in action-adventure games with third-person perspective
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Attention to detail while maintaining efficiency in the production process and respecting schedules
- Enjoy sharing ideas and learning from others
- Experience in scripting and/or using a game engine
- Proficiency in French and English (written and spoken)
Nice-to-Haves
- Previous experience in narrative-driven adventure games or a strong interest in the genre
- Experience with a proprietary game engine
Compensation
The salary for this position ranges from €31,000 to €49,000 per year, depending on your experience. This includes your annual fixed salary for 35 hours per week over 12 months and annual bonuses. Additionally, you will receive various benefits, which can be found on our website.
