Description
As a 1st Commis Chef, you will assist the Sous Chef and Chef de Partie in producing and delivering the best culinary experience at sea. This role requires a strong understanding of international cuisine, recipes, and culinary processes and food safety practices.
Your responsibilities will include adhering to company recipes, daily production schedules, and demonstrating an ongoing understanding of the ingredient consumption required for daily production to minimize food waste during production. You will also be responsible for demonstrating commitment to safety, compliance with international regulations and Company standards, and upholding the company's values while maintaining professional relationships and promoting a harassment-free environment.
To be successful in this role, you will need at least 1 to 2 years of prior work experience in a culinary environment as Commis Chef or similar roles. Culinary-related education is preferred. You will also need knowledge of basic food preparation, presentation, and preservation, as well as basic knowledge of Public Health, Food Safety and Sanitation regulations and procedures.
In addition to your technical skills, you will need to be able to organize and complete work by deadlines, have good English language skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work in a large multinational environment.
