Description
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate engineer with a strong foundation in structural mechanics and simulation to join our Customer Application Services team. As a Staff Engineer, you will collaborate with Sales teams to develop tailored solutions for complex customer challenges using LS-DYNA and other Ansys Software. You will support automotive, aerospace, high-tech, and consumer clients in developing methods for simulations related to impact, drop, multiphysics, fluid-structure interaction, and blast events. You will also present Ansys' value proposition to executive audiences, differentiating our offerings and affirming the sales message to drive business growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Sales teams to develop tailored solutions for complex customer challenges using LS-DYNA and other Ansys Software.
- Supporting automotive, aerospace, high-tech, and consumer clients in developing methods for simulations related to impact, drop, multiphysics, fluid-structure interaction, and blast events.
- Enabling customers to execute crashworthiness and occupant safety simulations, including full vehicle crash analysis, dummy positioning, airbag modeling, and seating systems simulation.
- Presenting Ansys' value proposition to executive audiences, differentiating our offerings and affirming the sales message to drive business growth.
- Leading multiple high-profile business development projects and analyzing complex technical problems to deliver value for clients and Synopsys alike.
- Transferring product knowledge and simulation best practices to customers and internal teams, ensuring effective adoption and utilization.
- Participating in internal initiatives to enhance product offerings, consulting, training, and sales enablement, while mentoring and developing team members.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- BS in engineering or a related technical discipline (MS or PhD preferred).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in explicit simulation and structural mechanics within an engineering environment.
- Expertise in LS-DYNA and other Ansys simulation tools, including hands-on experience with impact, drop, multiphysics, fluid-structure interaction, durability, and crash simulation.
- Strong fundamentals in Finite Element Analysis, Non-Linear Materials, and Dynamics.
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple complex projects across diverse teams and locations.
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering practices, product development, and technology application in customer environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage executive-level audiences.
- Leadership and mentoring abilities, with a drive for technical excellence and high performance.
- Customer focus and service aptitude; willingness to travel up to 25%.
